solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the
format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation to be issued; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this
Request For Quote is N00244-97-Q-A526. This solicitation and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition circular 46. This solicitation is issued on a restricted
basis. The Standard Industrial Code is 3559 and applies to businesses
with less than 500 employees. FISC San Diego has a requirement for one
can densifier with conveyor. Statement of work / specifications: 1)
Unit shall be an automatic, aluminum and steel densifying machine,
designed to densify aluminum and steel food or beverage containers into
high density interlocking biscuits; process full beverage containers,
trim stock, aerosol cans and similar materials, 2) Minimum salient
characteristics include: a) 53 gal. hydraulic reservoir capacity, b) 15
HP, 208 volts, 3-phase, 60 amps, c) aluminum capacity up to 800
lbs./hr, d) aluminum flat capacity up to 1200 lbs./hr, e) ferrous
capacity up to 1800 lbs./hr, f) biscuit size of 8"x 13"x 11" with
integral banding grooves, g) banded bundle size of 100 biscuits 40"x
52"x 55" with no skid or pallet needed, h) banded bundle weight for 100
biscuits of 2500 lbs. for aluminum cans, 5300 lbs. high density ferrous
cans, and 3300 lbs. low density ferrous cans, 3) Provide four copies of
technical manuals, 4) Destination is NAS Pensacola, FL, 5) Minimum term
of warranty shall be 12 months for FOB destination shipments and 15
months for FOB origin shipments. 6) Installation, start-up, and
training to be provided by vendor, 7) Site requirements list (weather
protection, foundation and mounting pads, electrical, water, sewer,
safety, security, etc.) for installing unit will be submitted to
requiring activity within 14 days after award of contract; preparation
of site must be completed by requiring activity prior to delivery, 8)
Install equipment within 20 days after delivery, and provide all labor
and resources for installation and start-up, 9) Validate installation
by operating equipment within 25 days of delivery, 10) Verify
performance by operating equipment in all modes and evolutions for
which it is intended to perform for not less than 4 hours. Inspections
and acceptance of material will be done by the receiving officer. The
following clauses and provisions are applicable and hereby
incorporated into the solicitation by reference and will be provided by
