Institutes of Health, Clinical Center, Nutrition Department intends to
issue a requirement to procure the following: Cottage Cheese: Low-Fat
(.5 to 2.0% Milk fat) -- Shall be in accordance with Commercial Item
Description #A-A-20154, dated March 24, 1987. Shall be Group A-1, Type
11, Class 1, Style a (small curd); Buttermilk, Low-fat Cultured --
Shall be in accordance with Commercial Item Description #A-A-20113B,
dated December 12, 1986. Shall be Group A, Type XI, Class 2. Shall be
packaged in one-half (1/2) pint (0.24L) disposable containers; Milk,
Chocolate Flavored Pasteurized -- Shall be in accordance with
Commercial Item Description #A-A-2011-B dated December 12, 1986. Shall
be in Group A, Type VI, Class 1 or 2. Shall be packaged 48-50 one-half
(1/2) pint (0.24L) disposable containers/case. Low-fat shall be Vitamin
A & D fortified; if made from whole milk be Vitamin D fortified.
Chocolate milk shall have minimum, of 2% milk fat; Milk, Skimmed,
Fresh, Homogenized, Pasteurized -- Shall be in accordance with
Commercial Item Description #A-A-20113-B dated December 12, 1986. Shall
be Group A, Type IV. Shall be packaged in 48-50 one-half (1/2) pint
(0.24L) disposable containers/case. Shall be Vitamin A & D fortified.
Milk fat in skim milk shall be a maximum of .5%; Milk, 2% Low Fat,
Fresh, Homogenized, Pasteurized -- Shall be in accordance with
Commercial Item Description #A-A-20113-B, dated December 12, 1986.
Shall be packaged 48-50 one-half (1/2) pint (0.24L) disposable
containers/case. Shall be Group A, Type II. Shall be Vitamin A & D
fortified; Milk, Whole, Fresh, Homogenized, Pasteurized -- Shall be in
accordance with Commercial Item Description #A-A-10113B, dated
December 12, 1986. Shall be Group A, Type I. Shall be packaged 48-50
one-half (1/2) pint (0.24L) disposable containers/case. Shall be
Vitamin D fortified; Milk, Whole, Fresh, Homogenized, Pasteurized --
Shall be in accordance with Commercial Item Description #A-A-20113-B,
dated December 12, 1986. Shall be Group A, Type 1. Shall be packaged in
one (1) quart (0.95L) disposable containers. Whole milk shall have a
minimum of 3.25% milk fat; Lactaid-Lactose Reduced Low Fat Milk --
Shall have no more than one percent milk fat. Shall have the lactose
reduced by 100%. Shall be packaged in one (1) quart (0.95L) disposable
containers. Shall be Vitamin A & D fortified. Shall be homogenized and
ultra pasteurized; Yogurt Plain -- Shall be prepared from Grade A
Pasteurized milk and necessary cultures (lactid acid bacteria). Shall
be a milk fat content of no more than 1.5 percent. The coliform count
shall not exceed 10 per gram. Shall be packaged in one-half (1/2) pint
(0.24L) disposable containers; Yogurt, Fruited -- Shall be the same as
#9 above except shall contain fruit and fat content of 1.5% or less.
The flavors shall include blueberry and strawberry; Yogurt, Vanilla and
Lemon Flavored -- Shall be the same as #10 except shall be flavored and
shall contain no fruit. Bidders shall furnish Manufacturer's Name and
Fat Content of the products they propose to furnish. Any deviation from
this request shall terminate contract. All of the above products shall
be packaged within radius of 100 miles of consignee's address. Any

received in this office by close of business 20 August 1997; 5pm EST.
