R -- PAYMENT OF NONRECURRING FOREIGN CURRENCY DISBURSEMENTS SOL RFQ-FMS-97-0011 DUE 082197 POC Jim Harden 202-874-0238 The Financial Management Service (FMS), a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, invites contractors that are eligible to be designated and employed as Depositaries and Financial Agents of the United States Government to express their interest in developing and piloting a system for delivering world-wide foreign currency payments. The objective of this Request for Quote (RFQ) number RFQ-FM-97-0011 is to obtain, over a period of two (2) years, a pilot mechanism that will allow the efficient payment of mostly non-recurring foreign currency disbursements to overseas vendors and/or government employees. The contractor would provide a system to make foreign currency payments overseas. The system should make electronic payments whenever possible and enhance the accessibility of payment information to FMS and the Federal agencies. The contractor would provide the necessary services, personnel, equipment and materials to perform the work. The scope of work will involve approximately 4,000 payments generated over the two (2) year pilot period. Proposals will be evaluated on capability to meet the requirements of the RFQ, past performance references, price, and best value to the government. Proposals are due 08/21/97.
