The Naval Air Systems Command is seeking sources and intends to release a draft Request For Proposal (RFP) via the internet for a Modification/Installation Program (MIP) on a Delivery Order contract to perform installations and/or modifications on P-3, S-3, EP-3, ES-3, foreign military sales (FMS) P-3 and VPU aircraft, through full and open competition. The contractor will be provided a complete technical data package from each modification so the effort will be essentially "build to print" and "install to print", with a minimum amount of non-recurring engineering, as needed, to tailor a specific modification from government supplied Technical Directives and Data Packages. The proposed contract will include labor hour and fixed price line items for a base year plus four option years, and is expected to run from FY1998 through FY 2002. A bidders list will be constructed from responses received.
