The Department of Energy (DOE) is soliciting proposals from small and large business concerns that are interested in providing patent preparation and prosecution services to DOE-CH. Such support will require services in the following fields: PHYSICS, MICROENGINEERING, CERAMICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOTECHNOLOGY, SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNETS AND RELATED TECHNOLOGY, COMPUTER SOFTWARE, LASER TECHNOLOGY, ELECTRONICS, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, RADIOACTIVE WASTE REMEDIATION, CHEMICAL NEUTRALIZATION OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE, ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION, VITRIFICATION TECHNIQUES, ENVIRONMENTAL DETOXIFICATION, SUPERCONDUCTIVITY, FUSION TECHNOLOGY, REACTOR TECHNOLOGY, ELECTROMAGNETICS, CRYOGENICS, MECHANICAL TECHNOLOGY, GENETICS, NUCLEAR TECHNOLOGY, SOLAR ENERGY TECHNOLOGY, FOSSIL FUEL, FIBER OPTICS, ELECTROCHEMISTRY, POLYMERS, FUEL CELLS, NUCLEAR COLLIDERS AND ACCELERATORS, CHEMICAL PROCESSING AND EQUIPMENT, AND OTHER AREAS OF DOE RELATED TECHNOLOGY. A labor-hours contract is contemplated with an initial base period of one year with four available one-year option periods for a total of five years. It is the Government's intent to award multiple contracts for the patent preparation and prosecution services to two or more sources under this RFP with at least one award being made to a small business concern. The Government reserves the right to award only one contract if, after evaluation of offers, it is determined that only one offeror is capable of providing the services at the level of quality and performance required.
