J -- OVERHAUL OF A PT6A-27 ENGINE SOL 51WCNA706071SA DUE 091297 POC Sheila Anderson, 816-426-7267 ext. 240 The Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) has a requirement for the overhaul of a PT6A-27 engine, serial number 41603, on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA), DHC-6-300 Twin Otter, FAA registration N48RF, due to approaching Time-Between-Overhaul. A loaner engine will be needed during the time the engine is being overhauled. (Approximately 100 hours of flying time is anticipated). The Government plans to install the loaner engine at a Government facility located on MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. The contractor shall provide a technical representative to monitor the Government's installation and initial start-up of the engine for both the loaner engine and the overhauled engine. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, special tools, and facilities to overhaul the engine to a zero time status. The contractor shall replace all parts recommended by the manufacturer to be replaced regardless of their apparent condition, this includes but is not limited to gaskets, packing, rubber parts, lockwashers, tablocks, tabwashers, etc. The pertinent information applicable to this engine as of July 21, 1997 is as follows: Manufacturer: Pratt & Whitney; Model PT6A-27; Serial Number: 41603; Time Since New: 14,350; Cycles Since New: 18,500; Date last overhaul: 08/07/90; overhaul facility: UNC Airwork; Hours Since Overhaul: 3,500; Cycles since Overhaul: 1,100.
