Overholt, (216) 902-6217. Composite piles which meet the requirements
of one of the alternatives listed in the specification. Alternative 1:
Fiberglass Tubular Piling. A hollow composite structural exoskeleton
molded in a 360 degree shell to various wall thickness, diameters and
lengths. Pile is comprised of a UV resistant acrylic barrier skin,
advanced composite FRP structural shell molded with Derakane Vinyl
Ester Resin and E-Glass reinforcements, and a rough shear-lock of pure
resin having ridges of adequate size to create a mechanical lock with
filler materials. Alternative 2: Precast/stressed composite piles.
Piles shall be prepared in accordance with ACI 315 Standards. Indicate
outside diameter and wall thickness of composite reinforcement tube.
Provide sufficient detail to substantiate appropriate strength for
FRP/polymer reinforcing tube. Alternative 3: Composite plastic and
steel pilings. The plastic shall be a mixture of one or more of the
following recycled post consumer or post industrial thermoplastics;
high density polyethylene and low density polyethylene. This plastic
shall bemixed with appropriate colorants, U.V. inhibitors and
antioxidants, so that the resulting plastic portion of the product
shall conform to the characteristics identified in the specification.
The piles shall be delivered to Commanding Officer, USCG Group/MSO
Philadelphia, 1 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. Performance period
is 45 DANTP. The SIC Code for this solicitation is 3087 and the
business size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition is 100%
set-aside for small business concerns only. All responsible sources may
