9TH ANNUAL US ARMY TANK-AUTOMOTIVE AND ARMAMENTS COMMAND RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT & ENGINEERING CENTER GROUND VEHICLE SURVIVABILITY SYMPOSIUM 9th Annual US ARMY TANK-AUTOMOTIVE AND ARMAMENTS COMMAND RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT & ENGINEERING CENTER (TARDEC) GROUND VEHICLE SURVIVABILITY SYMPOSIUM, March 21 -April 2, 1998, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. This entire symposium on combat and tactical vehicles is classified up to and including SECRET US ONLY. The Symposium is significant because of recent progress made in critical survivability technologies and in the military utilization of these technologies. The symposium will provide a setting for discussion of the implications of this technology on the modern battlefield, their relationship to the Army's Tactics and Doctrines, and the effects these new technologies have on ground combat vehicle designs. The organization will be similar to preceding symposium consisting of contributed, as well as invited, overview papers. To provide a balanced exchange of technical information, the minimum topic areas have been selected: Signature Management Technology and Integration into Ground Vehicles, Active and Energetic Armor Development and Integration into Combat and Tactical Vehicles, Active and Passive Vehicle Electro-Optic Countermeasure Technologies, Damage Reduction Technologies including: NBC/Detection/Protection Systems, Nuclear Survivability to Crew and Overall Systems, Spall Liners, Fire Extinguishing Systems, Survivability Testing and Test Methodologies, Signature/ Countermeasure/Armor Modeling of Current and Future Vehicle Systems, Survivability Optimization Modeling and Survivability Systems Analyses. Abstracts on all aspects of combat and tactical wheeled vehicle survivability with these topic areas are solicited.
