70 -- NETWORKING EQUIPMENT SOL hq 0002-7209-001 DUE 081997 POC CPT Ed Roden (703) 693-2140 The Defense Supply Service-Washington intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Farallon Communications, Inc, 2470 Mariner Square Loop, Alameda, CA 94501, for the purchase of the TIMBUKTU PRO for Networks Software, 1450 node user license, media, documentation, and annual maintenance for TIMBUKTU Software for a 1450 node system. The Software is required to be fully compatible with existing Microsoft Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT, and Apple Operating Systems, and the Software must have the capability to remotely access and interface with Microsoft Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT, and Apple Operating Systems. The system will be used to remotely access a user's PC as necessary to perform critical problem diagnostic, remedial action, and software distribution tasks. Interested vendors are requested to submit documentation and pricing that substantiates their ability to meet the stated requirements. No solicitation document exists. Requests for a solicitation document will be considered non-responsive. No telephonic requests will be honored, written responses only. If a solicitation is issued, a second synopsis will not be published.
