The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with IKON, formerly U.S. Connect for CUBIX Upgrade for Dial In/Out services to Window 95 for the Washington, DC Headquarters office, as well as five regional office locations (Atlanta,GA; Chicago,Il; New York, NY; Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA). The contractor shall provide the equipment/software necessary to upgrade CUBIX dial in to FERC HQ to Windows 95, add digital line and add dial out services; build the servers and integrate them to our existing HQ and regional office LANS within four(4)months. The Government intends to solicit one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. IKON is considered to be one of three (3) CUBIX VARS in the area. IKON is the only known company that has built a Windows 3.X dial in server using pcAnywhere on an old CUBIX OL 3222 board with 8MB of RAM which the other VARS were unable to do. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 30 days after date of publiation of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice solely with the discretion to the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All interested concerns may submit detailed technical specifications, sufficient documentation to establish technial capability to fulfill the requirement and itemized pricing to the FERC, Division of Procurement, Information Resources Procurement Branch, 888 First Street, NE, RM 4J-03 Attn:Mary Anne Wright, Contract Specialist, and must reference EADP-97-0275.
