COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 30,1997 PSA#1898Commandant (G-SEC), U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, 2100 Second Street,
SW., Washington, DC 20593-0001 61 -- MARKET SURVEY FOR PORTABLE DIESEL ENGINE-GENERATORS POC Mr. Jon
Grasson, G-SEC-2A, (202) 267-1892. The Coast Guard seeks information
on the availability of portable diesel engine-generators for rapid
recharging of batteries at solar powered lighthouses. The generator
must have an adjustable voltage range of 12-16 volts DC, capable of
providing 70 to 100 ampere (continuous) charge current, portable (100
pounds with carrying/mounting frame), with an extended run fuel tank,
ammeter and 150 amp battery connectors. Use of controls to finish
charge batteries is not desired as charging will be monitored by
on-scene personnel. Manufacturers having a device capable of performing
this task should send product literature to: Commandant (G-SEC-2A),
U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, 2100 Second Street, SW., Washington DC
20593-0001, Attn: Jon Grasson or jgrasson~@comdt.uscg.mil, by 31 August
1997. The Government will not pay for any literature submitted nor does
it guarantee that any products will be purchased. Literature will be
evaluated and if a suitable device is offered, it may be purchased for
field evaluation. (0209) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0339 19970730\61-0004.SOL)
