Owens, (757) 322-4500 The work includes demolition and disposal of the center 23 plus or minus feet of the concrete pier deck, beams, asbestos-impregnated fiber conduits, and sections of pile caps, the demolition and disposal of two 100 plus or minus feet x 92 plus or minus feet sections of the pier deck, beams, pile caps, asbestos-impregnated fiber conduits and indicated piles and the reconstruction of the demolished areas with prestressed concrete piles and slabs, cast-in-place concrete pile caps, topping, and pile repairs. Protection and relocation of utilities in the affected work area and incidental related work are also included. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 14 August 1997. A limited number of bid packages will be available and issued on a first come, first serve basis. There is no charge for the solicitation package. Written requests must be received in the office of the Officer in Charge of Construction no less than five (5) working days prior to bid opening if you want the bidding data mailed. If your request is received less than five (5) working days prior to bid opening, we will attempt to contact you and afford you the opportunity to pick up a bid package.
