E-MAIL: click e-mail link to contact the POC, keelingm%pk@mhs.elan.af.mil. Edwards AFB has a requirement for qualitative evaluations in a F4D aircraft in support of the USAF Test Pilot School (TPS). Performance shall be at Edwards AFB. Anticipated period of performance is 2 -- 5 Sep 97. Contractor shall provide an estimated 12 sorties of approximately 1.2 hours per. The contractor shall provide a safety instructor pilot and a qualified ground crew to maintain and launch/recover the aircraft. In addition, the contractor shall provide ground training, cockpit familiarization training including egress training, and pre-flight/debrief for each sortie. Flight Mode Characteristics will be evaluated within the aircraft envelope not to exceed +3.5 and -1.5G. These evaluations will be conducted IAW flight test techniques described in the USAF TPS Performance, Flying Qualities, and Systems Phase Planning Guides. The contractors safety instructor pilots must have the following qualifications or equivalent: Letter of Authorization (LOA) from FAA; Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or Equivalent Flying Time; Civil Flight Instructor (CFI) preferred/or prior military instructor pilot; Minimum of 1,000 hours in military fighter/trainer type aircraft to include instruction time; Current in aircraft as per FAR Parts 61 and 91 and LOA; Qualified to instruct from left/back seat. This acquisition is being accomplished under FAR part 12 procedures, Acquisition of Commercial services. This requirement is unrestricted. SIC Code is 8299. Size standard is $18.5M.
