International Development's (USAID) Bureau for Humanitarian Response
(BHR), Office of Private and Voluntary Cooperation (PVC), is soliciting
comments and/or questions from all interested parties for technical
assistance requirements under its new PVO Child Survival Technical
Support (CSTS) Results Package. Accordingly, a DRAFT Performance Work
Statement (PWS) and labor categories will be posted on the INTERNET.
USAID intends to competitively award a Performance-Based Contract for
a period of two years, with three 1-year options. Services of the CSTS
contractor shall strengthen: 1) the ability of PVO staff to design,
manage and evaluate their child survival activities, 2) the
organizational capacity of PVO health units to fund, adminis- ter and
provide backstopping support to a growing portfolio of child survival
projects, 3) the development and dissemination of information on the
PVOs comparative advantage in implementing health programs, 4) the
ability of PVOs to strengthen host- country local partners/NGOs in
long-term partnerships for child survival and health programming, and
5) PVC's monitoring of performance, and management of the Child
Survival Grants Program (CSGP). The DRAFT PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT
WILL BE AVAILABLE ON JULY 29, 1997. To receive a hard copy of the DRAFT
