B -- ANALYTICAL SERVICES -- POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT POC Contact -- Kathy Fisher, 513-648-4661 Fluor Daniel Fernald (FDF), Prime Contractor for the United States Department of Energy's (DOE's) Fernald Environmental Management Project (FEMP), Fernald, Hamilton/Butler County, Ohio, seeks expression of interest to provide/perform on-site chemical and radiochemical analyses. Types of analyses include, but are not limited to: radiochemical, wet chemical, metals, organic, and asbestos. While most of the analyses will be environmental level, there will also be analyses of matrices containing high concentrations of uranium. Such matrices could include uranium metal, uranium products such as green salt or yellow cake, and highly contaminated soils. These analyses will support soils and aquifer restoration activities, regulatory compliance activities, waste management operations, advanced waste water process control operations, and real-time, field measurements. In addition to these analyses, FDF seeks expression of interest for the peformance of Sample Management Office services. These include, but are not limited to: subcontracting analyses to off-site laboratories, sample receiving and shipping tasks, data management and entry functions, and invoice reconciliation. FDF envisions a contract with a single vendor or consortium to handle the above services. Because the FEMP is entering an advanced state of remediation which entails demolition of permanent structures, the vendor may be required to supply and equip on-site and/or near-site facilities, as appropriate, to support the above services. In addition, FDF will entertain innovative and creative ways to fulfill these requirements. All recommended alternatives for providing these services must be in accordance with all applicable regulatory statutes. These services shall be procured under a subcontracting approach. The requirement for these services is in an advanced acquisition planning stage. This announcement is a preliminary notification to determine interest in a forthcoming RFP as well as to assist in establishing a potential offerors list.
