Special precautions are necessary to prevent the introduction of harmful public health or agricultural agents from entering host countries on military equipment. The Naval Facilities Engineering Services Center (NFESC) is investigating equipment for usein the operational washdown of Marine Corps equipment. As part of this investigation, NFESC wishes to identify manufacturers/venders of equipment and/or systems capable of accomplishing this. Possible scenarios for use of washdown equipment include use at remote sites, on board ship or at port side locations. For this reason the system must be mobile in the sense that it can be redeployed to different sites to meet Marine Corps requirements. It is recommended that the system be of a modular, ruggedized design that can be deployed and operated without specialized expertise. Components that we envision will constitute a system include pressure washers, a portable containment system, a filtration system to recycle the washwater, and possibly a washrack to elevate the equipment allowing cleaning of the undercarriage. Of particular interest is the ability to continuously recycle the washwater for use on subsequent equipment. All information must be mailed to: DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY, CBC CODE 27239 BLDG 41, 1000 23RD AVENUE, PORT HUENEME, CA 93043-4301. Deadline for receipt of information is August 8, 1997. (0204)
