Two 250 kilowatt generators are to be purchased and installed in the dam. The contract will also include construction of six irrigation canals totaling 13,990 meters in length; and installation of 15.7 kilometers of electrical wire, reaching 17 villages. A 4.5 kilometer road must be constructed by the contractor to reach the dam site. Note: the dam site is in northeastern Laos, a battle zone during the Indochinese war. Prospective contractors should be aware that unexpoded ordance (UXO) may pose a hazard during construction. (0203)
