Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Southeast Regional Office, Atlanta
Georgia intends to make a single award to a qualified medical entity
located within a seventy (70) mile radius of the institution for the
provision of comprehensive medical services. The services will be
provided to inmates incarcerated at the Federal Correctional
Institution, 100 Prison Road, Estill, ~ South Carolina 29918. The
hospital shall make available on a nondiscriminatory basis, inpatient
and outpatient services, in a manner consistent with the medical needs
of the patients in accordance with medical standards for quality and
cost-effective patient care. The preferred payment methodology for
these services (which will receive preference in both award and patient
referrals) is the Medicare reimbursement methodologies in effect at the
time services are performed. All services (usually outpatient) not
covered by Medicare, shall be charges as low or lower than those
charged to the hospital~'s most favored customer for comparable
quantities under similar terms and conditions. Hospitals are requested
to contact the Contracting Officer listed in this notice. All requests
for solicitation packages or information must be in writing and include
the RFP number. No collect calls will be accepted. No telephone
requests for solicitations will be accepted. The estimated issue date
of the Request for Proposal is July 29~, 1997 with an anticipated
receipt of proposal date of August 29, 1997. The contract period will
include a base year not to exceed twelve months with four (4) one-year
option periods for renewals. The estimated inpatient days are as
follows. Base year minimum 10 -- maximum 250 inpatient days, Option
Year One (1) minimum 10 -- -- maximum 250 inpatient days~. Option Year
Two (2) minimum 10 -- maximum 250 inpatient days, Option Year Three
(3) minimum 10 maximum -- 250 inpatient days~, Option Year Four (4)
