The NASA Lewis Research Center (LeRC) plans to issue a draft RFP for industry comments in February 1998 for Contractor flight hardware design, development and operations for the LeRC Microgravity Science Program (MSP). As the NASA Center of Excellence in fluid physics, combustion science, and accelerometry, LeRC is responsible for implementing peer reviewed science investigations for those disciplines which focus on understanding the role of gravity over a wide range of physical processes. This contract is for the definition, development, integration, test and operation of multiuser hardware, as well as for individual flight experiments to be flown on the International Space Station> the Space Shuttle, Sounding Rockets and other potential carriers. Contract performance is scheduled from October 1998 through September 2006.
