EXPANSION/RENOVATION SOL 482980-97-A-0399 DUE 082297 POC Shea Rampy,

(214) 819-7275. The project consists of the construction of an
approximately 17,100 SF addition to and subsequent renovation of an
existing building. Also demolition work shall include partial removal
of existing site paving and portions of the existing building; sitework
includes grading, relocation of parking lot lighting, and concrete
paving. The addition shall be steel frame with brick veneer on
structured foundation, in accordance with the plans and specifications.
Estimated cost range $2,200,000.00-$2,400,000.00 and construction time
is 300 calendar days. Successful offeror must submit their
Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned
Business initially and thereafter with their progress payment requests.
The contractor must subcontract with minority business firms in an
amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its
subcontracts. A 20% proposal bond is required on all proposals. The
successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and
50% Payment Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of
award. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later
than 3:30 p.m. on August 22, 1997. Proposal documents, plans and
specifications will be available on July 21, 1997 at a cost of $ 100.00
per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only. Requests
for packages shall be forwarded to Brown Reynolds Watford Architects,

75204-1494, Telephone: (214) 528-8704. Checks or money orders must be
made payable to BROWN REYNOLDS WATFORD ARCHITECTS. Since this is a
request for proposals, offers will not be publicly opened. The number
of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one
offer, or relative standing of offeror will not be disclosed to anyone
until after award of a contract is made and the request is submitted
in writing. The U.S. Postal Service currently has the following
projects advertised for building expansion/renovation: Dallas, TX --
Beverly Hills Station; Dallas, TX -- Oaklawn Station, and Dallas, TX --
University Station. Although each project will be awarded separately,
it may be in the best interest of the Postal Service to make multiple
awards if there are cost savings. Offerors are encouraged to submit
proposals on multiple projects of any number and combination of their
choosing. Plans may be inspected at the issuing office and any
questions and/or information regarding this solicitation may be
