the repair of the Golf Course Clubhouse Facility, Building 720 at Hill
Air Force Base, Utah. The facility is a wood framed structure that was
constructed during the 1940's. The project will repair structural,
mechanical and electrical systems. Finishes through out the facility
will be upgraded. A detailed description of the work to be included
follows: Exterior concrete walks will be removed and replaced. An
asphalt driveway will be enlarged. The entire roof structure of the
facility will be remove and replaced with wood trusses, clerestory
windows, sheathing insulation, and a standing seam metal roof. Repair
of exterior wood framed walls will be necessary. Exterior columns will
be repaired. An entrance vestibule will be added to the east side of
the facility. Exterior aluminum siding will be repaired. Exterior doors
and windows will be removed and replaced. Some interior partitions will
be removed, constructed or repaired and painted. Interior doors will be
replaced. Handicapped rest rooms will be added at the second floor.
Interior finishes to be replaced include acoustical ceilings, gypsum
ceilings, rubber tile, carpeting, ceramic tile, vinyl tile, rubber
base, painting etc. Cabinetry will be replaced. Toilet partitions and
accessories will be a part of the repair. Sub-floors will be repaired.
A small amount of asbestos floor tile will be removed. Mechanical work
will include replacement of plumbing supply and waste lines, floor
drains, fixtures, and installation of a new fire sprinkler system.
Repair of the HVAC system will include replacement of ductwork, air
handlers, piping, pumps, fans, diffusers, and controls. Electrical work
includes removal and replacement of lighting, wiring, outlets, and fire
alarms devices. Power must also be supplied to the new equipment. a
lightning protection system will be repaired. Estimated range: $500,000
-- $1,000,000 Performance Period: 420 calendar days The approximate
issue/response date will be 06 Aug 97. No telephone requests. Only
written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor are
acceptable. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid,
proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. Request for copies of
solicitations must reference the entire solicitation number, including
purchasing office identification number. To expedite your request,
limit the number of individual solicitation numbers requested per
letter to not more than 10. Don't request information on this
requirement until after the issue date. An Ombudsman has been appointed
to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the
proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the
Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or
contracting officer, but to communicate contractor, concerns, issues,
disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government
personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict
confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not
participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection
