Provide labor, tools, equipment, and material~s to make repairs to plumb and stabilize the flagpole atop the dome of the Old Courthouse. The work consists of gaining access to the site on the flagpole where it leaves the building, stabilizing the flagpole back into proper vertical, plumb alignment, and securing by installing stainless steel wedges. Access to the site of work must be gained by erecting scaffolding from the walkway around the cupola, by climbing from that location, or other method, a distance of approximately 42 vertical feet. Due to the fragility of the existing metal roofing "scales", no attachment or contact may be made to the roof by either equipment or personnel. Repair shall be made to the flashing/counterflashing system as needed to restore water-tightness. Issue date for the solicitation will be on/about July 29, 1997 with the offer return date of August 29. 1997.
