66 -- THE ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL IS CONDUCTING A DATA SEARCH ON TECHNOLOGY AND TECHNIQUES FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF CHEMICAL AND/OR BIOLOGICAL DEFENSE DETECTION SYSTEMS. (Site Code DAAA08) The Rock Island Arsenal is conducting a market survey to identify firms that utilize any of the following technologies or techniques to detect, identify, map, monitor, quantify or track chemical and/or biological agents. Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS), Passive Infrared (imaging and nonimaging), Gas Phase Ion Chemistry, Mass Spectrometry, LIDAR (absorption; scattering, near infrared and infrared), Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW), RAMON Spectroscopy, Electro Spray, UV Laser Induced Fluorescence (UVLIF), Aeroparticle Sizing, Millimeter Wave Spectroscopy, Pyrolyzation and Flowcytometry. Firms should state any Research and Development projects on-going/planned and manufacturing capabilities. Firms may also identify technologies and/or techniques not listed above that they feel may be relevant. Basic research currently being pursued by private industry and academia can be used as a foundation for defense applications for next generation chemical/biological detection systems. Interested parties should respond tothis market survey by transmitting hard copy informaiton on their relevant and specific products or projects no later that 15 days from date of publication. Information can include specifications (weight, size and detection levels), brochures, literature papers, articles, etc that explain the system, technology or technique used.
