pyates@wr.usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) requires
telecommunications cable facilities maintenance, installation, testing
and electronics, and construction services supporting intra- and
inter-building telecommunications requirements. The USGS in Menlo Park
and Redwood City, CA, possesses extensive telecommunications
facilities used to conduct scientific research and publishing, and to
perform business activities. New telecommunications cables and
associated equipment and supporting construction are required to
accommodate personnel moves, building construction and modification,
and technology modernization. Contractor will furnish all labor,
materials, supervision, and management. Parts of the facilities will be
upgraded to comply with ANSI/TIA/EIA 568A; additions conforming to
older standards will also be required. Expected contract period: base
year plus three option years. Indefinite quantity type contract, with
smaller, routine jobs ordered on a fixed unit price basis and larger,
unique projects which cannot be defined before design is completed
ordered on a time-and-materials basis. A single contract is planned for
consistency in supplies and performance. Successful offeror will have
qualified technicians and facilities located in the San Francisco Bay
