LABELLING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES The following notification is being
circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.333. 1.
Member to Agreement notifying: THAILAND. If applicable, name of local
government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Food
and Drug Administration, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand. Agency or
authority designated to handle comments regarding the notification can
be indicated if different from above. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2.
4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national
tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where
applicable): All alcoholic beverages. 5. Title, number of pages and
language(s) of the notified document: Notification of Ministry of
Public Health No. 177 (1997): Labelling of Alcohol Beverages (2 pages).
6. Description of content: All alcoholic beverages are subject to
declaration of warning statement on their labels having the meaning of
"drinking alcoholic beverages reduces driving ability". Exception of
this declaration are products manufactured or imported to be samples or
not for sale or for export, including products possessed by any person
having diplomatic privileges or under international laws or
agreements. 7. Objective and rationale: Consumer protection against
vehicle accidents. 8. Relevant documents: Food Act B.E. 2522 (1979). 9.
