Officer, (201) 724-4282. This is a Sole Source to Datatran Lab, Inc.,
P.O. Box 384, Sussex, NJ 07461 in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The
contractor shall provide and install a hydraulic power unit and a
computer based control for data recording system for use with an
existing 420 ton hydraulically controlled press. Parts are installed in
three different areas: The control room, the press room, and the pump
room. Any electrical devices or valves installed in the press room must
meet Class 2, Division 1, Groups E,F, and G explosive atmosphere. The
hydraulic system shall be able to handle double acting pressing method,
its flow rate, and pressure can be adjusted by software from the
control panel. The hydraulic system shall be able to handle both upper
and lower rams independently and simultaneously controllable by
software. Data recording software capabilities will incorporate a
graphical interface that will allow the operator to reset, control, and
monitor the speed, pressure, and positions of the rams at all times.
Both the upper and lower ram positions are determined by the position
feedback transducers. In addition, the system will control the die
temperature and vacuum as well as monitor and display the cause of
abnorlmal transducers signals. The software also allows to set up an
infinite numbers of timers for an infinite numbers of cycles needed for
pressing. The software allows creating and saving any cycles for later
use. All work must be completed and press operating by 01 Oct 97. See
