Supply Service -- Washington, on behalf of the Single Agency Manager,
Pentagon Information Technology Services (SAM-P/ITS) intends to
negotiate a sole source contract under SIC code 7379 with SAS
Institute, Inc., Cary, N.C. 27513 for SAS statistical analysis software
licenses. The SAS software for which license is required is proprietary
in nature. The license agreement numbers are #01963 and #22932. The
license agreements shall provide for maintenance, upgrades, and repairs
of the SAS software modules that follow: base SAS (Statistical Analysis
System), SAS/GRAPH (Graphics), SAS/FSP (Full Screen Product, SAS/ETS
(Econometrics Time Series Library), SAS/OR (Operations Research
Procedures Library), SAS/AF (Applications Front-end Facility), SAS/DB2
(Database 2 Interface), SAS/Access (Menu-Driven Database Interfaces),
SAS/ASSIST (Task-Oriented, Menu-Driven Interface), SAS/Connect
(Cooperative and Distributed Processing), SAS/C (C Programming), and
SAS/IML (Interactive Matrix Programming). The SAS software modules
operate on IBM CPU s located at the Business Data Center -- Pentagon
(BDC) and the Pentagon Telecommunications Center (PTC). The projected
period of performance is for one base year with an anticipated start
date of 01 October 1997 and will include two one year options. This
notice of intent is not a request for proposals; however, any
capability statement received within 15 days after the date this
synopsis is published will be considered by the Government. Information
receives will be considered to determine whether to conduct a
competitive acquisition. However, any determination not to compete this
contract is within the Government s discretion. Interested concerns
