69 -- COTS SOFTWARE FOR THE PURPOSES OF TRAINING INDIVIDUALS IN A GROCERY STORE POC Contract Specialist, Wendy Johnson (703) 767-1177; Contracting Officer, Patrick Kennedy The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), which runs the grocery stores on military bases worldwide, is interested in commercial off-the-shelf software (COTS) that will use networked Windows microcomputers to train personnel in grocery store jobs, assess the resulting competencies, and supply formatted individual training records to a central archive. Jobs to be trained include but are not limited to cashier; store sanitation; departmental operations such as deli, bakery, produce, meat, and grocery; secuirty and safety including OSHA compliance; human resources administration; and computer security, usage and administration. Desired COTS functions include identifying respondents, identifying eligibility for a particular course, administering course to respondent, accomplishing secure test administration, safeguarding test results forwarding test and respondent information to a remote data base. Procuts must be capable of instructing the job as received off-the-shelf. However, company ability to revise and update products is also of interest.
