E-MAIL: Mozetta A. Edwards, M.A.EDWARDS@larc.nasa.gov. NASA Langley Research Center plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for Low Profile Cart. Work performed includes fabrication, shop assembly, shop checkout, delivery, and site testing of the model support cart assembly. Cart shall provide pitch rotation, yaw rotation, and vertical translation. The cart shall provide the model with pitch rotation via a rack-and-pinion system, yaw rotation via a cable drive system, and vertical translation via a telescoping mast. The cart shall have air bearings. The Contractor shall also design and fabricate the test fixtures required for the shop load tests. The Government shall provide labor and material to connect motors and limit switches with a variable speed control for pitch, yaw, and vertical translation motors at the Contractor s site. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA MidRange Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy. See Numbered Note 26. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered bythe agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about July 23, 1997, with an anticipated offer due date of on or about August 25, 1997. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Note "B". The solicitation and specification related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in ASCII or RTF format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
