The United States Postal Service is seeking a qualified supplier to construct a powered-roller linear sorter. The linear sorter will have a single induction station complete with keyboard and timing/metering devices and 52-58 separations or run-outs. The supplier awarded this contract, will be responsible for the design, construction, and delivery of this sorter to the United States Postal Service, AMC/JFK, Building 250, Jamiaca NY 11430. A performance specification will be provided in the solicitation. Some of the keys elements of the sorter are as follows: through-put will be 1200 pieces per hour, parcels will be approximately 30" long x 24" wide x 24" high, parcels may weigh up to 50 pounds each, the linear sorter will be L-shaped, the sorter must be furnished with all necessary software (sort scheme) to control its operation. A mandatory pre-proposal conference will be held at the Jamaica Facility, the time of this pre-proposal conference will be provided in the solicitation.
