inspection, preservation and packaging of propulsion shafts to be
installed on 110' WPB Vessels. Material shall be as specified in ASTM
A564-95 Type 630 H1150 Class A, and shall have a minimum ultimate
tensile strength of 135,000 psi, elongation of not less than 16%, and
tensile yield strength of 105,000 psi. Tapers shall be machined by a
computer numerically controlled (CNC) lathe in accordance with a
government furnished gauge set. Delivery of manufactured shafts shall
be made, F.O.B. Destination, within approximately 120 calendar days
after award to the U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, 2401
Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21226. It is intended to award a
firm-fixed price contract for a quantity of six (6) each propulsion
shafts. The date shown for receipt of quotations is an estimate only.
The actual date shall be specified in the solicitation. When calling to
request a solicitation package, be prepared to state name, address, and
solicitation number. All responsible sources may submit an offer which
shall be considered by the agency. See Numbered Notes 1 and 26. This
notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation
(DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU),
has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance
for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
