76 -- FIRE PREVENTION FIELD USER GUIDES SOL R220Q970020 DUE 091997 POC Contracting Officer, Kay Ryan, 208-387-5717 Develop six (6) individual wildland agency fire prevention field user guides for use by local wildland fire agency personnel. Guides shall cover the specific functional areas of: 1) Equipment, Industrial, and Construction Operations, 2) Recreation Areas, 3) Exhibits and Displays, 4) Show-me Trips and Tours, 5) Fire Prevention Strategies, and 6) Effective Prevention Patrolling. Each functional area guide shall outline and describe the necessary steps and processes, in chronological order, to reduce: 1) the occurrence of unwanted wildland fires, 2) the loss of natural resources, and 3) the loss to public and private property. The guides shall effectively describe how these steps and processes are best accomplished by fire prevention and other agency personnel. They shall also describe how specific fire prevention actions are effective in reducing wildland fires in the human-caused categories of: 1) Campfires, 2) Smoking, 3) Fire Use, 4) Incendiary, 5) Equipment Use, 6) Railroads, 7) Juveniles, and 8) Miscellaneous. Delivery of one of each of the guides to the address in Note 7 is anticipated by April 1998. Procurement is a 100% small-business set-aside and only written offers will be accepted. Negotiated contracting procedures will be used for the award. The anticipated award date is September 19, 1997.
