(202) 219-6445 The Department has a requirement supportive of the
Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration, for access to a computer
based research service which provides comprehensive pension benefit
data. The Research Institute of America (RIA) has been providing this
service through the Library of Congress' FEDLINK program. This is an
ongoing requirement, for which RIA has been selected based on the
following items: -User friendly set up for searches and is easy to
access and use. -It is currently installed on the agency LAN's. -Agency
investigators and auditors already trained in its use. -Subscription
provided full text of options. -This is the only subscription which
provides flexibility in organizing searches. -It includes ERISA
Committee reports. -It has the ability to provide EBC cites. -It
enables research of the law, regulations and opinion letters and
includes easy to read and understand explanations. The subscription
period is from September 30, 1997 through September 30, 1998. The
estimated cost to the Government for one year is $37,750. A procurement
directed back to RIA through FEDLINK is contemplated. No solicitation
