The government requests proposals for the removal and disposal of old slate roofing, copper flashing and gutters, and the installation of new slate roofing, copper flashing and gutters on the Melrose Antebellum Mansion. The house is located in Natchez, MS and is the centerpiece of Natchez National Historical Park, a unit of the National Park Service. In addition to the roofing work, six chimneys will require stucco repair at the roof level. Approximately 52 squares of purple slate roofing will be required for the job. Proposal evaluation criteria will be price and past performance. Offerors will be required to demonstrate in their proposal that they have past experience in performing slate roofing work. The government intends to evaluate the proposals received and make award of a contract without conducting discussions. Magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Procurement is being conducted under full and open competition procedures. Solicitation package will be available o/a July 11, 1997.
