COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 24,1997 PSA#1873US Army Armament and Chemical Acquisition and Logistics Activity
(ACALA), Attn: AMSTA-AC-PCC (HRN), Rock Island, IL 61299-7630 66 -- M10A1 POWER SUPPLY POC Contract Specialist: Barbara Douglas,
(309) 782-5025, PCO: Vicki Ahlgrim, (309) 782-5058 The purpose of this
market survey is to solicit contractor input regarding the M10A1 Power
Supply, NSN: 6665-01-093-2739. The Government wishes to determine if
the contractor community projects any design or cost advantage to
building an alternative device to a performance specification rather
than building the M10A1 Power Supply to the current TDP. Background:
The M10A1 Power Supply is an auxiliary component to the M8A1 Chemical
Agent Alarm. The M43A1 Chemical Agent Detector is the major component
of the M8A1. The M43A1 automatically detects nerve agents in the air.
The M10A1 provides dc power to the M43A1 from an ac power source. It
accepts 115 or 220 vac, 50 to 400 Hz. It switches automatically to
standby battery if output drops below 18 vdc. The M10A1 attaches
directly to the bottom of the M43A1. Presently the M10A1 Power Supply
configuration and performance is described by Technical Data Package
5-15-8026 and specification EA-P-1200, revision B, Amendment 2, M10A1
operation is described in technical manual Tm 3-6665-312-12&P and the
M10A1 maintenance and repair as described in TM 3-6665-312-30&P. If you
are interested in obtaining a copy of the TDP or Technical Manual
notify Rich McInnis, (309) 782-7180 or e-mail
rmcinnis@ria-emh1.army.mil. The acquisition forecast for the M10A1 is
468 units in FY98, 232 in FY99 and 360 in FY00. In addition to end
items, spare part acquisitions are planned to support the existing
configuration. Interested parties may submit their comments or concepts
for alternate configurations for the M10A1 Power Supply to Rich McInnis
at the following address: CDR., CBDCOM, ATTN: SCBRD-EN (RI)/Rich
McInnis, Rock Island, IL 61299-7410 or at the e-mail or telephone
number stated above. If there is enough interest, a meeting will be
held at Rock Island Arsenal to further discuss this item. It is noted
that this is not a request for proposal/quotation and the government
does not intend to pay for any information received nor will response
create any right on the part of the responder to any award or contract.
