D -- PHONE/INFORMATION APPEND SERVICES DUE 071897 POC Frances I. Toole, (301) 457-1831 The Bureau of the Census (BOC) has a requirement for Phone/Information Append Services. BOC is requesting information regarding Phone/Information Append Services for both Business and Consumer files. BOC is requesting information from List Management Companies with existing Business or Consumer files and the ability to service large files in a short turnaround period. Interested parties are requested to provide: 1) information regarding facts about their Business or Consumer Database in terms of size, sources, regional or national information, update frequency and demographic offerings. In addition, interested parties are requested to provide information regarding their ability to do the following: 2) perform business file tasks which include: a) confirm or provide the address and phone number, name and title of the point of contact, and specific business characteristics, given the name of a company with or without address and phone number; b) provide a list of all businesses in a given Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code; c) provide a list of all division or subsidiary locations of a particular corporation headquarters; d) provide a list of all businesses "born" since a specific date narrowed by geographic area, SIC Code, ethnicity, or other characteristics; and e) provide a list of businesses that have been removed from the List Management Company's file(s) and the reason for their removal, i.e., went out of business, acquired by another business, change of name, etc.; 3) perform consumer file tasks that include: a) provide the address, phone number, and household information when the name of an individual is given; b) provide the phone number for an address without the name of the resident; c) provide apartment designations; d) convert rural route addresses to street addresses; and e) when a multi-unit address is given, provide the name, title, and phone number of the management company's point of contact; the number of units at that address and a sample of tenant names, addresses, and phone numbers. As well as, 4) turnaround times for requested information, 5) formats of the data files, 6) file transfer modes supported,7) ability to support interactive access, i.e., modems, T1 line, or other mode; 8) cost information relative to these services, and 9) other information the party deems necessary.
