POC Steve von Christierson (703) 602-7797 or A. R. Ketchum (703)
602-7707 B-The Program Executive Office for Undersea Warfare
(PEO(USW)), Submarine Regional Warfare Systems Office (SRWS, PMS415),
Arlington, VA extends an invitation to industry to provide a review of
technology development associated with Submarine Regional (or
Defensive) Warfare. This review is being conducted in support of the
Near Ship Battlespace Dominance (NSBD) Working Group of the Submarine
Payload Systems Oriented Integrated Product Team (SOIPT). The NSBD
working group would like to give Industry the opportunity to provide
related briefings on any IR&D efforts they believe are relevant to this
working group. The morning of 18th of July is set aside for individual
companies to provide such briefings on a first-come, first serve basis
at no cost to the government. Twenty minutes is allocated, limiting the
number of companies to twelve. The session will start at 0800 and end
as 1200. The briefing will be held in Crystal City, with government
only attendees. If there are more interested companies thancan be
accommodated, we will consider extending the session. Please notify
Steve von Christierson by 11 July, in writing, via fax, of your desire
to provide a briefing, and a synopsis of your brief. Phone number is
(703) 602-7797, Fax is (703) 602-9414. A schedule of briefings and
location will be sent to participants prior to the meeting. For
clarification, the Submarine Near Ship Battlespace is understood as the
area in the immediate vicinity of the submarine, nominally below the
surface within 5NM and above the surface within 15NM. The NSBD WG does
not consider torpedoes, missiles, or Unmanned Undersea Vehicles during
their reviews. Countermeasures, counterweapons, and associated
launchers (CSA Mk2) explicitly fall within it's purview. "Out of the
box' technical approaches are welcome. The working group is charged
with evaluating ongoing efforts and recommending to the Payload SIOPT
the relative priorities of these programs, within the Submarine
Technology program. The working group will meet on 17 July to review
the following ongoing Navy Programs: Countermeasure Technologies, ONR,
Affordable Common Countermeasure Technologies, NUWC, Torpedo Defense
Counterweapon Technology, ONR/PSU, ATT ATD, ONR/PSU, SMTD PMS415
