Wright, 509/375-3744 On behalf of the US Department of Energy, Battelle, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is facilitating a large-scale purchase of residential and on premise high performance clothes washers in order to speed their adoption in the marketplace. The solicitation will be in two parts: Part A-requires furnishing and delivery of high performance clothes washers to individual utility customers of the City of Austin, TX plus associated after sales services. The city will assist in promoting the program. The US Department of Energy, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and The Consortium for Energy Efficiency offer technical assistance and publicity to successful Part A offeror(s). Part B-This program is actively recruiting additional local municipal or utility partners similar to the City of Austin. Part B requires furnishing and delivery of high performance clothes washers in truckload batches to each of these Later Local Partners at a single delivery point in the jurisdiction of that local partner. It isthe intent of the program that each Later Local Partner as it joins the program will make i2ts own arrangement for delivery and after sale service to individual retail customers and will provide substantial local marketing assistance, but the nature and level of such local assistance cannot be specified at this time.
