RECOVERY (ERS) FOR MULTIPLE SUBSCALE AERIAL TARGET SYSTEMS (SATS) SOL

AMSMI-AC-CCT, (PCC), 205/842-7507. The government solicits industry for
a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Research and Development (R&D)
Study/Analysis/Concept/Demonstration for an Enhanced Recovery System
for Subscale Aerial Target Systems. The government is exploring the
feasibility of enhancing the recovery system/methods currently in place
for the various subscale aerial targets (primarily the MQM-107 and
BQM-74). The statement of work objective is the demonstrated
feasibility of reducing recovery damage costs 70% by more accurate
landings and reduced damage to the target vehicles. The current system
relies on free fall parachutes that are subject to prevailing wind
conditions at the site. Proposal submission for this acquisition is in
two parts as follows: a. The offerors will submit their past
performance information to the contracting officer on or before 15 July
1997., b. Technical and other proposal areas are due to the contracting
officer 31 July 1997. (Note: Part b. may not exceed 40 pages excluding
proposed cost and past performance data). Offerors need to make
immediate reservations with Mr. Milton Petersen for attendance at a
preproposal site-survey/MQM-107 demonstration to be conducted at White
Sands Missile Range, NM / Fort Bliss, TX on or about 15 July 1997.
Offerors may schedule up to 3 personnel per firm for this site survey
depending upon space availability. Detailed site survey data, confirmed
date, travel, and other facility information will be made available
under a separate cover. RFP packages will be available for distribution
on or about 01 July 1997 by written request to the Commander, U.S. Army
Missile Command, Attn: AMSMI-AC-MOD, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898-5280.
