Falgiano, Contract Specialist, (404) 842-6786 The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention contemplates awarding a contract for the development and implementation of a performance evaluation program to assess laboratory susceptibility testing process for drug resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and selected strains of non- tuberculosis mycobacteria (NTM). Prospective offerors will be required to collect, prepare, and develop reference strains of Mtb and NTM for use in performance evaluation surveys, to develop a laboratory descriptive and test result collection instrument, to package and mail these reference organisms and report forms to laboratories that volunteer to participate, collect and process the report from the participants, and to provide the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention with SAS datasets of the results. The schedule issue date is approximately June 25, 1997, and the period of performance is approximately 24 months.
