(AMSTA-AQ-DS), Warren, MI 48397-5000 A -- ADVANCED RESEARCH & ENGINEERING DEVELOPMENT OF MILITARY WATER
PURIFICATION EQUIPMENT SOL DAAE07-97-R-X037 DUE 081997 POC Ms. Tamra
Bouzide [810] 574-5898 E-MAIL: U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments
Command, bouzidet@cc.tacom.army.mil. The United States Army
Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) will be issuing a Request
for Proposal (RFP) for the acquisition of engineering research and
development of a 1,500 gallon per hour (GPH) Reverse Osmosis Water
Purification Unit (ROWPU). The 1,500 GPH ROWPU will be used to purify
a broad range of water sources (fresh, brackish, sea, and nuclear,
biological and chemical-contaminated) to meet war and peacetime water
support requirements. This acquisition will be conducted in two phases.
The Government intends to award up to two (2) Cost-Plus-Fixed Fee
contracts under the research and development effort (Phase I). This
initial phase is for the design and fabrication of up to three
prototype hardware units per contract. The contract will include
associated work effort required to support contractor testing,
Government Production Qualification Testing (PQT) and Early User
Testing (EUT) and validation. The prototype hardware will be fully
evaluated in order to determine its suitability to perform to the
specification requirements. The prototype test results will be an
integral part of the selection of the production contractor.
Competition for the Phase II production contract will be limited to
those firms awarded a contract for the prototype development effort
(Phase I). This restriction is necessary to ensure that the selected
production contractor is adequately evaluated on the basis of prototype
testing. The Government intends to award one (1) fixed price production
contract (Phase II) for a quantity of up to 500 ROWPUs with an option
of up to 100%. All responsible sources may submit a proposal for Phase
I. The estimated release date of the Phase I solicitation (RFP
DAAE07-97-R-X037) is 30 June 1997. The estimated closing date of the
RFP is 19 August 1997. Firms having an interest in this program should
make a written request for the RFP package. Please include your firm's
CAGE code and the RFP number on your request. The RFP will be issued to
all interested parties immediately upon its availability. If you wish
to datafax your request in, please do so on [810] 574-7596. See
numbered Notes 26 apply. (0163) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0001 19970617\A-0001.SOL)
