Ben Burton at (312) 886-4310 AN OUTREACH CONFERENCE to promote
subcontracting opportunities for small business concerns for the
Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc) project (originally
advertised in the CBD April 22, 1997) at the Major General Emmett J.
Bean Center, Indianapolis, Indiana, will be held July 10, 1997, 9:00
a.m.. The conference will be held at the Bean Center, 8899 E. 56th
Street, Room 321D. The purpose of this conference is to explain small
business subcontracting opportunities and to gather information from
small businesses that will be forwarded to offerors in the competitive
range for their use when developing their subcontracting plan. Small
business concerns are requested to bring 10 individual sets of
literature describing their business, limited to 100 pages per set.
Representative from small business firms that are unable to attend this
conference are invited to forward their literature to: General Services
Administration, Attn: Christine Parzygnat, Contract Specialist, 230 S.
Dearborn St., Room 3512, Chicago, Illinois, 60604-1696. The proposed
renovation, with an Estimated Construction Cost of $103 million,
includes exterior and interior work as well as site improvements.
Exterior and site improvements include but are not limited to,
replacing the building's facade, creating additional parking spaces,
landscaping, upgrading perimeter security, repairing/replacing the
building's roof and replacing existing skylights. Interior improvements
include but are not limited to, upgrading the mechanical, electrical
and life safety systems as well as making all accessible entries,
restrooms and public areas compliant with ADA standards. The project is
comprised of four phases with the first expected to begin later this
year. It is estimated that the entire project will last approximately
