Comfort, Contract Specialist, (202)324-9227 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with International Association for Identification (IAI), Orlando, Florida to provide a 5 day workshop training at the 82nd Educational Seminar for 147 attendees on July 27 thru August 2, 1997. The seminar will include sessions in the following disciplines: Automated Fingerprint Identification, Blood Stain Pattern, Crime Scene, Forensic Art, Fingerprint Identification, Firearms Identification, Footwear and Tire Track, Innovative techniques, Voice Identification, Acoustic Analysis, Polygraph Examination, Forensic Photography & digital Imaging. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. This solicitation document, incorporated provisions and clausesare those in effect through FAC 90-46. The proposed procurement will be conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for other than maximum competition. This is a small business-small purchase set-aside. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) 8299. Interested persons able to meet the requirement are invited to identify their interest and capability by submitting a proposal to information which shows a bonafide ability to meet this requirement within 15 calendar days of this publication. If no affirmative responses are received within this time to determine that a qualified source more advantageous to the Government is available, an order will be placed with the above-named vendor.
