Veronica.Keane@fema.gov. The U.S. Fire Administration has a requirement
to collect and analyze data to determine numbers and causes of fire
fighter fatalities. This information is to be documented in a report
used by the fire service for decision making in the areas of health and
safety, training, and tactical considerations. The report shall include
the analysis performed, conclusions, and recommendations. The
contractor shall solicit reports fro the media, fire service
organizations, USFA and any other sources of fire fighter on duty
deaths in the United States for calendar year 1997. Based on criteria
in the contract, the contractor shall determine the eligibility of
deaths for inclusion in the National Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial
Service. For each reported death, the contractor shall prepare the
appropriate National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) reports
using NFIRS application software to encode the reports. Award of a base
contract from October 1, 1997 through September 30, 1998 plus two, one
year options is anticipated. All requests for the solicitation must be
