shall furnish all necessary labor, materials, equipment, travel,
facilities, and other miscellaneous services to provide technical
planning and design services to support the National Park Service
(parks, regions, and support offices) to develop conceptual and final
exhibit plans/designs, or any stage of the process as may be needed.
Work will include: develop interpretive themes, review artifact and
graphic collections, take on-site building measurements, locate power
sources, and assess site conditions; prepare schematic design
proposals; conduct necessary research for planning and design;
determine availability of graphic materials; prepare concept plans and
make oral presentations; prepare exhibit text; select and prepare list
of graphics and artwork; select and prepare list of artifacts; prepare
exhibit planning book; prepare presentation drawings, perspective
drawings and/or renderings in a variety of media; produce scale
presentation models; prepare lighting plans; develop graphic techniques
and special effects; prepare sample color boards; prepare production
drawings, etc. The proposed contract will be an Indefinite
Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type for one year with options to extend
annually an additional four years. Specific projects will be initiated
and funded by the issuance of individual delivery/task orders. The
maximum delivery order limitation will be $100,000. The aggregate total
of all task orders will not exceed $500,000 per year. The following
criteria, listed in descending order of importance, shall form the
basis for evaluation of prospective firms: 1) Professional
qualifications of the principals and staff proposed; 2) Specialized and
recent experience and technical expertise in projects similar in
nature; 3) Performance record of the firm with regard to quality,
costs, time schedules, and ability to respond to a variety of small
projects; 4) Demonstrated ability to develop and support innovative and
effective approaches to exhibit design;5) Ability to communicate,
coordinate, and facilitate work expeditiously and expediently with
large planning teams; and 6) Geographic location of the firm. The
Request for Proposal will be available approximately June 30, 1997.
