F -- PRECOMMERCIAL THINNING, SOLEDUCK, QUILCENE, HOOD CANAL AND QUINAULT RANGER DISTRICTS, OLYMPIC NATIONAL FOREST SOL RFP R6-5-97-19-O POC Contact Point, Janet Hada, 206/744-3338 This Request For Proposal is for precommercial thinning of 656 acres on the Soleduck Ranger District; 148 acres on the Quilcene Ranger District; 377 acres on the Hood Canal Ranger District; and 200 on the Quinault Ranger District. Estimated issue date of the solicitation is on or about June 30, 1997. Estimated start work date for these projects is generally August 6, 1997. Contract time will vary by item, but will generally be 90 days. For all items except the Soleduck Ranger District, competition will be limited in accordance with the approved waiver of full and open competition for the "Jobs in the Woods" program; competition for those items will be limited to eligible firms and individuals located within the group of counties designated in the waiver to enhance employment opportunities for person in timber dependent communities in Washington, Oregon, and Northern California.
