contractor shall perform all that is necessary to deliver, install,
and setup the milling machine. The contractor shall supply the
necessary personnel and all materials required to install, setup, and
level the milling machine base and accessories in Room 123 of Building
7120. The required items are listed below: (a) Bridgeport Series I
standard milling machine, or equivalent, with a 3 horsepower completely
balanced motor. The motor shaft shall be Nickel plated and shall
require no lubrication. Cooling of the milling machine head shall be
accomplished without the use of external fans. The head tilting
mechanism shall be capable of 90 degree rotation to the left and right
and 45 degree rotation to the front and back. The milling machine
shall have a manual lubricating system installed to lubricate all
working areas of the chrome ways and gibs. The milling machine shall be
equipped with a power feed quill that can provide a minimum of 5 inches
of travel. The quill shall be hard chrome plated and handlapped. The
table shall be ribbed, hand spotted, and at least 9" wide by 48" long.
The travel in the x, y, and z directions shall be a minimum of 36",
12", and 16", respectively. Travel in the x direction will be
accomplished via an installed powerfeed system. The milling machine
shall be capable of providing at least 12" of V-Ram travel along with
360 degrees of turret rotation. (b) Sony Millman or equivalent,
magnetic scale digital readout system. The digital readout system shall
be capable of x, y, and z direction readout. All tray arms and
accessories shall be included with the readout system. The readout
shall be equipped with a signal processor, phase modulator, bandpass
filter, pulse shaper, bubble memory, and an alarm display. It shall
also be capable of 200 IPS readability, self diagnostic memory check,
and absolute/incremental conversion. (c) A R-8 collet tray with a set
of R-8 collets, 1/16" to 7/8" X 32nds with 0.0005 accuracy total
indicator runout. (d) Indexing fixture, Bridgeport 5C or equivalent,
with adapter plates with 360 degree division of 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24.
The fixtures shall have a 4" center height. A compatible 60 degree
dead center nose shall be provided with the indexing fixture. (e) A 3"
boring head with tenthset indicator and R-8 shank carbide tipped
boring bars ranging from 1/2" to 11". (f) A 6" spherical segmented
precision vise 16" X 8" X 4-3/8" X 7-1/2" opening. A 8" spherical
segmented precision vise 21" X 11" X 5-5/16" X 9-1/2" opening. The
vises shall be flame hardened and precision ground. (g) A right angle
head with N-2 collets 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4". (h) Milling arbor with an
auxiliary support. (i) A clamp set that includes studs, clamps, and
flange nuts. (j) A 110 volt swing arm lamp with matching workbase.
