Standards and Technology (NIST), Atomic Physics Division of the Physics
Laboratory, intends to procure a Vacuum Ultraviolet Fourier Transform
Spectrometer System from John Wheaton Associates, 123 Rivermead Court,
London SW6 35D England. This is a small business set aside. This
system is a used piece of equipment; a Chelsea Instrument Ltd. Vacuum
Ultraviolet Fourier Transform Spectrometer System FT500 serial number
001. The system shall have the capability of recording spectra down to
160 nanometers and shall be able to be adapted to be fitted with a
magnesium fluoride beamsplitter for receiving spectra down to 140
nanometers. The system shall be capable of recording spectra at these
short wavelengths to perform precise refractive index measurements of
optical materials. The system shall be delivered within twenty calendar
days after contract award. No solicitation will be issued. Requests for
a copy of a solicitation package for this acquisition will be
disregarded. A requestfor quotation will be verbally requested from
John Wheaton Associates and the anticipated award date is on or around
June 25, 1997. In accordance with FAR 5.207(e)(3), Numbered Note 22
