65 -- EYEGLASS FRAMES SOL IPI-R-0792-97 DUE 082297 POC Louise Stoneberger 202-305-7322 UNICOR intends to issue a solicitation for purchasing EYEGLASS FRAMES, VARIOUS Styles, F.O.B. Destination to UNICOR's customers (Department of Justice, Department of Defense, Deparment of Veterans Affairs, Department of Interior, Department of Transportation, Department of Agriculture, U.S. Health Services, Department of Labor, Department of the Treasury, etc.). Type of Contract: Firm-Fixed Price Requirement for Two (2) Years with Three (3) One Year Renewal Options, if exercised. The average annual purchases have been approximately $558,000. per year. The average daily production is approximately 250 Trays (55% Safety, 45% Dress). UNICOR production averages 21 work days per month for 12 months. Delivery schedule will be required within 3 days ARO per delivery order. Delivery Order Minimum Quantity is one (1) unit. Delivery Order Maximum quantity per item is 100 units. Maximum Order quantity is 2,000 units per order. Billing requires each invoice to bill against only one delivery order, no mixing. Source inspection is not required. Inspection will be conducted upon delivery to destination by UNICOR Staff. The supplier must have a (1) history of dependability, (2) have EDI capabilities, (3) be capable of electronically viewing our usage data and forecasting our future needs, (4) be able to maintain sufficient stock levels and (5) pick up and maintain our current line of frames (or equal to in appearance, quality and costs). UNICOR currently carries 40 safety styles, 25 dress styles and uses 10 different manufacturers. Minimum needs are: Frames should be marketable, fashionable, conforming to industry standards and readily available. This is a "Best Value" solicitation/proposal with consideration be given to price, past performance, marketability of frames presented, method carrying inventory, customer service to UNICOR, ability to deliver, and warranty of products. Bid samples may be submitted to UNICOR FCI Butner prior to or at Pre-Bid Conference to be held at UNICOR, FCI Butler, N.C. on approximately July 16 or 17, 1997. FCI Butler is requesting bid samples to see product(s) to be supplied and review quality of product to meet their customer's needs. Each firm may send a maximum of two (2) representatives to the Pre-Bid Conference. Each firm will submit a list of names of representaive(s) who will be attending this conference as well as any question(s) your firm will be asking about this work, product(s), solicitation/contract, etc. prior to the Pre-Bid Conference. Bid samples will be submitted during oral presentations which will be conducted to allow offerors to demonstrate and clarify their proposals/positions. Bid samples presented at the Pre-Bid Conference will remain at UNICOR FCI Butner for evaluation proposes.
