A -- SKID-STEER LOADER WITH FORKLIFT SOL N47408-97-R-1856 DUE 071397 POC PROCUREMENT TECHNICIAN, FUSAKO WINCHESTER, 805-982-3935 The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is interested in obtaining technical information and costs (including lease costs and schedules) from any industrial source for Skid-Steer Loader (SSL) with forklift and other attachments which can enter standard 8x8x20 ft ISO containers. It is desired that the SSL shall have a forklift attachment capacity from 2,000 lbs to 4,000 lbs at a load center of 24 inches. The SSL will be required to operate on unprepared surfaces and rough terrain. The SSL forklift attachment will be used to unstuff ammunition containers and for loading pallets onto trailer chassis. Technology related to attachment capabilities, self diagnostics, controls, ease of maintenance are issues of interest. In the future, the Marine Corps may lease a SSL for technical evalution. Interested potential sources are requested to send a letter of interest and capability, along with brochures and other descriptive literature to the NAVFAC Contracts Office by July 13, 1997. This is not a request for proposal, and no contract will be awarded on the basis of the responses hereto, or any follow up information subsequently solicited. The Marine Corps will not reimburse costs incurred by prospective sources while acting to satisfy this request.
